Back-office technology supplier Restaurant365 is adding employee training to its repertoire.

The company on Tuesday announced that it has acquired ExpandShare, a learning management system that allows operators to create and run training programs for staff.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We’re thrilled to offer this invaluable learning tool to the 40,000 locations we serve,” said Restaurant365 co-founder and CEO Tony Smith in a statement. “We’re confident that adding best-in-class training to our one-of-a-kind back-office system will allow leaders to holistically grow their business in a way the industry has never seen.”
Training has become a bigger area of focus as restaurants look to reduce turnover, improve operations and keep their costs down. Founded in 2012, ExpandShare is designed to simplify and digitize that process for managers. Restaurants can upload existing training materials into the system or select from its library of readymade courses. They can also use an AI tool to help build training programs. And they can run the whole thing from a mobile app.
